aivi & surasshu - Mika (+ album announcement!)

Aivi Tran and I both loved working together on our Mabe Village cover so much that we immediately set forth plans to create more stuff together. This song is the first attempt to make an original track together, and explore some new fields in chiptune (especially the rhubato, orchestra-esque stuff).

I'm also extremely excited to announce we're working on an album together, which will consist of both covers (like Mabe Village) and originals. It will be released hopefully at the end of this year/early 2013, on the awesome chiptune label Ubiktune! More news about it to follow. Anyway, hope you enjoy this song!

Welcome! I'm surasshu, and I'm a composer and sound designer, specialized in games. Even as a kid I was fascinated by games and their peculiar bleepy music. At age 12, a friend gave me a tracker on a floppy diskette and jump-started my composing career.

I've come a long way since then with many titles under my belt, having worked for Amaze Entertainment, Capcom, EA, and more. I even got a Master of Arts studying game music from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, and a Bachelor with Honours for Sound Design. Those experiences changed me profoundly, but the love for game audio is still the same as when I was in elementary school.
