The Knocking Dead

I'm excited to show off the debut of a game that I did the music for, called The Knocking Dead. Co-developed by Ian Stocker and Carl Van Ostrand, and they asked me to capture the zombie apocalypse in music. My very first thought was to try to capture the unique sound of the Italian band Goblin, who did tracks for various Italian zombie horror movies, not least of which the truly gruesome Zombi 2, by Lucio Fulci.

I've always loved their work, so I set out to create something similar to their sound, with realistic drums and authentic tape wobble, overdriven bass, retro analog-style synths, the works. Anyway, check out (a part) of my music for this game, and keep an eye on the game coming out on XBLIG!

Welcome! I'm surasshu, and I'm a composer and sound designer, specialized in games. Even as a kid I was fascinated by games and their peculiar bleepy music. At age 12, a friend gave me a tracker on a floppy diskette and jump-started my composing career.

I've come a long way since then with many titles under my belt, having worked for Amaze Entertainment, Capcom, EA, and more. I even got a Master of Arts studying game music from the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, and a Bachelor with Honours for Sound Design. Those experiences changed me profoundly, but the love for game audio is still the same as when I was in elementary school.
